Scriptures and Power

A Christian publishing site, built and run by a team of two. I’m one of its two developers: I’ve designed pages, built whole sections from the database up, and added many of the features readers use today.

What I built

• The events section and its calendar. Event pages, a month calendar worked out on the server, and countdowns to what’s coming up.
• The resources library. The models, URLs and page design, and the backend tests that cover them.
• Page design for several pages, including the welcome page visitors land on first.
• Features across the site that make it faster, more reliable, and installable on a phone like an app.
• Deployment and tooling. Moved the site off Heroku to Docker on DigitalOcean, and set up the tools the team works with every day.
